Digital Samba

Digital Samba is useful when the video room must sit inside an existing website or learning workflow. Its free meeting product is simpler to approach, while Embedded requires technical ownership and careful planning around concurrent participants, minutes and contract length.

Best For
  • + Teams embedding branded training or webinar rooms into their own product
  • + Developers who need an API and SDK to control the meeting experience
  • + Workshop organisers evaluating a browser meeting service with European hosting
Not For
  • − Nontechnical teams expecting an embedded deployment without development work
  • − Buyers treating a monthly Embedded rate as a monthly cancellation right on every plan
  • − Sessions that require all interaction features while end-to-end encryption is enabled
Key Capabilities
✓ Host video meetings directly in a browser
✓ Embed and customise a video room through the Embedded API and SDK
✓ Present screens and collaborate on a shared whiteboard
✓ Collect polls, quizzes and moderated audience questions
✓ Split a workshop into breakout discussions
✓ Use group chat, private messages and shared notes
✓ Record sessions under the chosen plan's recording and storage terms
Honest Limitations

Embedded needs implementation work

The API and SDK offer control over a branded room, but a team must build and maintain the surrounding registration, access and integration workflow.

Concurrency and minutes are separate limits

Monthly minutes, account concurrency and room capacity are separate limits. The listed plans also cap simultaneous video broadcasters at 100 per session. Hosts consume both participant places and minutes.

Encryption changes the feature set

The vendor says enabling end-to-end encryption disables Q&A, polling, shared notes and saving whiteboards.

Free and Embedded are different offers

Digital Samba Free keeps the vendor's branding, and its account and scheduling functionality is labelled beta. Do not apply Embedded capacity or white-label terms to that free product.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • ! Paid Embedded recording, storage, transcription and some streaming features have additional usage charges.
  • ! Overage rates depend on the plan; the lowest advertised minute rate is not an entry-plan price.
  • ! Allow for development, taxes and the 30-day cancellation notice before an automatically renewed term.

Digital Samba offers two routes into a browser video session: its own free meeting product and an Embedded service for developers. The latter makes sense when your event already has a website, member portal or learning platform that should remain the attendee’s destination.

Model the event with hosts and simultaneous rooms included. A session can fit the monthly minute allowance and still exceed the concurrency cap, and enabling end-to-end encryption changes which interaction tools remain available.
