Eventgroove

Eventgroove is worth considering for an event that combines ticket sales, assigned seats and fundraising activity. Its practical strength is the connection between online event setup and supported seating-map preparation, but ticketing and fundraising must be budgeted under their own fee rules.

Honest Limitations

Ticketing and fundraising have different fees

The 2% + $0.75 ticket service fee does not describe fundraising campaigns. Fundraising uses donor-tip or percentage options plus processing.

Tip pricing still has processing costs

The tip model keeps Stripe processing charges with the organiser. Auctions also carry a 4.9% service fee, capped at $100 per item, under either fundraising model. A reduced nonprofit processor rate needs separate eligibility confirmation.

Reserved seating needs a setup handoff

Eventgroove asks for the venue floor plan, creates the chart and returns it for organiser review. Allow time to check sections, seats and blocked inventory before publishing.

Pricing Breakdown
Plan Price Details
Free event tickets No service fee No platform service fee when the ticket is free.
Paid event tickets 2% + $0.75 per ticket Service fee capped at $9.90 per ticket; published Stripe processing is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
Fundraising — tip model $0 service fee for eligible non-auction campaigns Optional donor tips support the platform. Auctions still cost 4.9%, capped at $100 per item; processing applies and cannot be passed to donors under tip pricing.
Fundraising — percentage model 7.5%; auctions 4.9% Auctions are capped at $100 per item. Donation pages carry no service fee under either model; processing remains separate.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • ! Published ticket-processing charge is per transaction, while service charge is per ticket.
  • ! Nonprofit processing discounts require separate qualification; do not assume the advertised reduced rate.
  • ! Printed products, merchandise and shipping are separate purchases.
  • ! Confirm selling currency, taxes, refund treatment and who absorbs each fee.

Eventgroove can be useful when a ticket is also a seat at a table or in a defined section. Supply the real floor plan and approve the chart before inviting buyers to choose their seats.

For an event with a fundraiser attached, budget the two activities separately. A ticket service fee, an optional donor tip and a processor charge are different parts of the cost.
