Mitti

Mitti is a practical candidate for the operator whose central task is playing the right clip, stopping cleanly and giving the crew a reliable countdown. Its cue controls and output tools are focused on that job. Trial the entire chain from client media to the switcher, and reserve setup time for control triggers and the backup machine rather than judging it on a single successful playback.

Best For
  • + Corporate AV operators needing a clear video cue playlist
  • + Mac-based crews preparing controlled starts, loops, fades and ends for client media
  • + Teams using Blackmagic or NDI workflows and wanting explicit playback integration
Not For
  • − Productions that require the main playback application on Windows
  • − Buyers seeking an extensive live visual-effects or multi-track composition environment
  • − Teams assuming a rental can be converted into a portable dongle licence
Key Capabilities
✓ Build cue playlists from video, stills, audio, PDF and supported live sources
✓ Set per-cue in/out points, pauses, loops, transitions and go-to behaviour
✓ Inspect audio waveforms and monitor clip timing
✓ Route playback to screens, Blackmagic outputs, NDI and Syphon
✓ Add separate time overlays and supported subtitle or caption display
✓ Coordinate playback with ATEM, HyperDeck emulation, NDI triggers and external controls
✓ Transcode media to ProRes or HAP and package files for show transfer
Honest Limitations

The playback application is Mac based

Current Mitti 2 runs on supported Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Include the actual output devices and driver versions in the demo; advertised codec and interface support cannot establish performance on an untested rig.

Automation must match the exact switcher workflow

Mitti documents ATEM triggering, HyperDeck emulation and NDI integration. That does not establish a native connection to every broadcast protocol. Test start, end, preview and recovery commands with the real control system.

Dongles require a perpetual licence

Current documentation allows transferring perpetual seats to a suitable USB drive. Rentals cannot create dongles, one seat must remain available for computer-based management, and dongles do not support emergency deactivation.

Rent-to-own needs a manual request

The vendor offers a perpetual licence after five qualifying Mitti 2 rentals using the same email address or company. The conversion is not automatic. Keep the purchase records and confirm rental dates and eligibility before relying on that route.

Pricing Breakdown

Perpetual From $399 plus tax Published offer includes two or more computer activations according to configuration, with no expiry and optional dongle use. Currency code not stated.
Rental From $79.80 plus tax Published rental offer activates two computers. Confirm current duration, start time and required show dates; this review did not verify the checkout’s full rental terms.
Rent-to-own Five qualifying Mitti 2 rentals Vendor documentation says eligible purchasers can request a free perpetual licence after five rentals under the same email or company; manual conversion required.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • ! Additional activations and any upgrade entitlement should be checked against the current account terms.
  • ! Provide Macs, output interfaces, USB dongle hardware and media storage.
  • ! Taxes and currency conversion are separate; this review does not derive a per-attendee price from an unverified rental period.

Test a long video, a loop that must end on cue and a last-minute replacement file. Send a clean output to the audience and a time display to the operator. Confirm that the control surface reports the same cue state the crew expects.
