Resolume

Resolume is a strong choice when the operator is performing with layers, effects and unusual screen shapes. Arena adds the mapping and lighting features that many stage designs need. Routine corporate clip playback is a separate fit test: prepare the media, build deliberate controls and assess whether the visual-mixing interface helps the operator execute the actual show.

Avenue €299; Arena €799 for one computer, with one backup activation

Honest Limitations

Arena and Avenue have different scope

Projection mapping, edge blending and DMX-oriented stage control are highlighted as Arena features. Choose the edition according to the output design before buying Avenue.

Media preparation affects playback confidence

In December 2025, Reddit reviewer herropreasedavi described a stable recurring multi-wall setup after converting media to DXV and building templates. TimeToHack reported audio drift with longer playback in November 2025. These conflicting individual experiences justify a full-file rehearsal on your rig.

Offline operation has licence maintenance

Official registration guidance supports offline use but says a normal installation will request online verification every 30 days. A dongle is offered for machines kept disconnected. Choose and test the appropriate activation method before travelling.

Updates and production hardware cost extra

The purchase includes 12 months of updates; renewing that entitlement is optional because the last eligible version continues working. Computers, capture/output devices, controllers, display systems and additional licences remain separate.

Pricing Breakdown
Plan Price Details
Avenue — one computer €299 Live visual mixing and playback; 12 months of updates and one additional backup activation.
Arena — one computer €799 Adds the advertised projection mapping, blending and DMX/lighting scope; same update-period model.
Renewals, extra seats and dongle Check the current configuration Optional update renewals and licence expansion are priced separately. A multi-seat licence still gets only one additional backup, not one per seat.

Cost at Common Event Sizes

500
attendees
€1.60
Illustrative €799 Arena purchase allocated entirely to one 500-person event: 799 ÷ 500 = €1.598, rounded. Excludes tax, hardware, content and labour; actual billing is per licence.
2000
attendees
€0.40
Same one-computer €799 licence allocated to a 2,000-person event: €0.3995, rounded; output feasibility and additional seats are separate.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • ! Confirm tax treatment and any dongle shipping charges at purchase.
  • ! Budget media conversion, content creation and control-template preparation.
  • ! Wire and third-party plugins/content are separate purchases where required; no bundled entitlement assumed.

Bring the real media set, including the longest video, to the evaluation. Build the intended layers and output map, then rehearse the controls another operator would inherit. A successful looping background alone does not answer whether the full show is easy to call.
