The detailed licensing guide limits credit-free offline use to exclusively RACE RESULT timing hardware. Online registration and results hosting use participant credits; do not rely on the shorter free-software headline alone.

Hardware and preparation remain separate

Chips, readers, rental shipping and trained operators are not covered by participant credits. Erin Nieusma’s April 2024 review describes an unsuccessful first setup despite support; this was a historical experience with the version-12-era system.

Reviews predate version 14

A 2021 software-and-hardware user praised flexibility across events. Neither that review nor the 2024 account establishes the reliability or usability of the current release.

Local work is not continuous online visibility

Install and prepare the local software and timing connections in advance. Rehearse restoration of the online event and publication; public live results and remote access still depend on connectivity.
