Neon CRM

Neon CRM makes sense when event attendance should become part of an ongoing donor relationship. Budget the Events module on top of the revenue-based CRM subscription; the $99 entry price alone does not include the full event configuration.

CRM starts at $99/month; Events adds 20% of the CRM subscription

Honest Limitations

The event module is an additional cost

Events adds 20% of the CRM subscription, while Memberships and Volunteers each add 10%. The underlying CRM rate varies with revenue, so attendee counts do not determine the quote.

Implementation is part of the decision

The vendor offers multiple onboarding and migration packages. Confirm their price, field mapping, training and historical-data scope rather than assuming these are included with the monthly starting rate.

Learning curve in a dated user account

Emily J.'s 4 January 2026 G2 review praised automation and integrations but described some features as difficult to learn. Shelly C.'s 3 April review reported an easier setup. Both are incentivised individual accounts.

Connectivity and payment hardware need a rehearsal

The event page describes real-time QR check-in and a Neon Pay payment terminal. That establishes an onsite workflow, not disconnected operation or inclusion of hardware in the subscription.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • ! Payment processing and onsite terminal costs require confirmation.
  • ! Implementation, migration and tailored training may have separate package charges.
  • ! A higher organizational revenue band can raise the CRM base and therefore percentage-priced modules.

Ask for a demonstration using a repeat donor who buys a table, brings a guest and later makes a separate gift. Verify which records represent the buyer, the attendee and the household, and how staff will report on each.

The current pricing structure is modular. Keep the CRM base, Events percentage, other optional modules and implementation on separate quote lines. A larger attendee list alone does not justify extrapolating a larger subscription when the actual billing basis is organizational revenue.

The fit assessment follows documented scope. Reviews are dated individual accounts; no hands-on product test or vendor interview is claimed.
